Happy New Year

Christmas is over and we already started with a new year! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and started with new energy and lots of plans and new projects.

Mine will start pretty soon. It will be awesome and a lot to do, but I will tell you later.

For now I started my year on Etsy with translating my descriptions and informations in to German and also with a very NEW treasury:

Someday I will ride the great bird
Into the sky, into the grey
And will take a bright secret of mine
Into the grey, grey sky.

And the light will come, piercing my eyes
Out of the sky, out of the grey
Come blinding and searing these eyes
Out of the grey, grey sky.

And I will find comfort in this
In the wide sky, in the wide grey
In the painful dark brightness of light
Light of the grey, grey sky.

My secret will fly away home
Into the sky, into the grey
And the great bird will follow it there
Into the grey, grey sky.

And I will be riding that bird
Bird of the sky, bird of the grey
And I will come home once again
Home to the grey, grey sky.

But for now I am weighted, earthbound
One of the mud, one of the ground
And I write this sad song to sad sound
Girl of the pavement sighs.

I hope you like poems like I do!!

shopping and other surprises

Yesterdays was a day full of surprises and I will have one for you too. After a late start in the day we drove to an Outlet about 20 minutes from San Diego and shopped until the credit card got hot.

outlet center

When we realizes we wont make it through the whole center, we decided to go back to the car and drive home. But we wanted to see everything and so we drove to the end of the outlet center and then we saw this:

border fence

We have known that the boarder to Mexico is not far from San Diego and the outlet is even closer, but this close, we never thought that. We shopped the whole day and did never realize that the fence from the boarder is just a stone throw away.

boarder and Mexico

To our left was the shopping center and to our right was Mexico. We were stunned.

It was a very difficult experience for us and we talked about it a lot when we drove back to San Diego. But the day was great we have been very exhausted of all this undressing and dressing again. The best thing was, it's Labor Day weekend and that meant a lot more savings for us. Yayyyy!!

AND NOW

something new for you. Please look at the following picture and tell me what is wrong in it. Write a comment under the post with your thoughts and I will pick someone and she or he will get a postcard from sunny funny San Diego!!!

Whats wrong in here???

So lets start and have a nice day!

Etsy Shop Feature: RainbowsLNG

This weeks Etsy seller is all about little girls, their 'dressy' needs and doing what you really want. At

some little girls dreams may come true. Behind this shop stands Dawn. She is a mother to three beautiful girls that inspire her daily to sew. Dawn has recieved some excellent feedback amoung friends and coworkers encouraging her to sell some of the things she creates.

She is greatful to each and every person who gave her that gentle nudge, needed to start a little business sharing her own creations with the world. This is a true passion for her. How many people truely love their job? I know, Dawn does! She enjoys her work and takes great pride in it.
Dawn told me the following:
"Everyday I smile and think. This is my job. I do what I love and I LOVE what I do!"

Isn't that the best reason for work? I mean, of course it brings money to feed your family but Dawns reason sounds for me like 'the one' reason we should looking for!

Of course she answered the 3 questions:

Q)In which country/city would you live if you could choose?
A)If I could live anywhere I would really love to live on the beaches of Florida. I love the sun, sand and waves. To be able to wake up every morning and see the sea out of my windows would steal my breath away and be a constant reminder of how beautiful our planet really is.

Q)What do you like more: apple or orange juice?
A)Apple and orange juice is tricky for me as I really dont like either :). I am a cranberry juice kind of girl. I love the tart and tangy taste!

Q)What is your favorite color?
A)My favorite color, if I have to pick just one, is red. I love just about everthing in red. Red hair, red clothes, red shoes, red roses , red poppies, red dots and naturally....red juice *wink*.

Wow, what an interesting story and how cute these little dresses are. I mean, who has not dreamed to become a ballerina (ok guys, maybe not everyone)?!

Please go to Dawns shop and have a look at all these lovely little dresses and PLEASE write a comment for Dawn under this post!! Thank you! Oh and by the way, she also has a Facebook page:
